Of Oil and Iron - V1 RELEASE
Greetings Ironclads,
After years of development, playtests, countless revisions, and invaluable feedback from this community...
Of Oil and Iron - Version 1 is finally here.
This marks the completion of the first full edition of the game. What began as an idea has grown into a complete tabletop wargame, and I couldn't have reached this point without every one of you who has playtested, commented, offered suggestions, and supported the project along the way.
Version 1 brings together everything learned throughout Alpha and Beta into the most refined and balanced ruleset yet. From the redesigned combat system and streamlined Ironclad mechanics to the updated faction roster, scenarios, campaign rules, and polished presentation, this is the definitive foundation for Of Oil and Iron going forward.
This doesn't mean development stops.
Far from it.
Version 1 is the beginning of a new chapter. My focus now shifts towards expanding the world with new factions, Rigs, campaigns, terrain, and the upcoming expansion set in The Great Rift. I still have some bits to finish from the Kickstarter, this week I will be wrapping up the destroyed Rig tokens!
There's lots to dig into in Version 1. Here's a quick rundown of the promotional text:
Of Oil and Iron is a dieselpunk mech skirmish game focused on cinematic combat, deep customisation, and a relentless push-your-luck heat system. Command your Rigs, outmaneuver your opponent, and decide when to push your machine beyond safe limits… and when to hold back.

I'm going to be sending this for a test print today. But of course, if you catch any errors, I will keep the book updated where possible.
This October, I will arrange a physical print run crowdfund. Stay tuned for that, if you fancy getting your hands on a physical copy.
To everyone who has believed in this project from the very beginning, whether you've been here since the first sketches, joined during Kickstarter, or only recently discovered the world of Of Oil and Iron, thank you.
Now's the best time to dig into Of Oil and Iron. I hope you all enjoy!
Cheers,
Scott
